Kids are susceptible to illness that keeps their parents on the toes due to frequent visit to physician. Generally, infants or toddlers are more worrisome for parents as they can not express themselves. With popularity of health apps, University of Pittsburgh Medical Center’s health network launched an iPhone app called ChildrensPgh.
The iPhone app is designed to give parents information about symptoms your child might be experiencing, means to request online medical appointments, contact information and directions to the hospital’s emergency room. The main features of the app include:
- Advice on dozens of symptoms, based on protocols used by pediatricians and nurses for more than 15 years.
- Over-the-counter medicine dosages for children and first-aid illustrations.
- Online appointment tools
The app can be downloaded from iTunes ChildrensPgh or from the hospital’s Web site, www.chp.edu. Health apps may be a great resource for health information and health management tools. Browse through this tool to ease your pain in getting the medical attention for your child.
