We have had recall of peanuts, tomatoes, spinach and what not. This time it is ice cream made by Kroger, specifically Deluxe Chocolate Paradise ice cream, sold in 17 states. The reason for recall is said to be presence of tree nuts that are not listed on the label.
Some people may have life threatening allergic reactions from nuts and hence Kroger decided to take the containers in doubt, off the market.
Allergies from different products especially peanuts and milk are on rise....
Food manufacturer must ensure that product containing any ingredients either active or inactive should be listed on the label. FDA is very particular about labelling issues. It is definitely a good step taken by Kroger in best interest of the people who are allergic to nuts.
