Moark, Cardenas Market and Trafficanda Egg Ranch join egg recall


Egg lovers if you feel secured because the eggs you have been consuming are not from Wright County Egg and Hillandale Farms, who have been in news for about 550 millions eggs recall that infected more than 1300 people, you might be wrong.  Recently three more companies have announced voluntary recalls due to expected salmonella contamination in the eggs.  Check your refrigerator if you have these three brands, which have been recalled lately.

Trafficanda Egg Ranch
Trafficanda Egg Ranch announced a voluntary recall as the eggs were produced and supplied by Wright County Egg, and has potential for being contaminated with Salmonella enteritidis. Trafficanda Egg Ranch recalled shell eggs in Medium, large, x-Large, and Jumbo Cartons, 12-egg cartons, 20-egg over-wrapped packages, and 60-egg over-wrapped packages with the Julian dates ranging from 136 to 229 and plant numbers 1026, 1413, 1720, 1942 and1946. The eggs were distributed to grocery stores and food-service companies in California.

Moark LLC
Moark LLC issued the recall because some of their eggs brands were supplied from Hillandale Farms of Iowa. The eggs were sold under different brand names and sold to both grocery stores and foodservice customers. The recalled product includes: 

  • Yucaipa Valley Large – 1 dozen
  •  Albertsons Large – 1 dz and 18 ct
  • Mountain Dairy Large – 1 dozen

  • justify;">Farmer’s Gems Large – 1 dozen
  • Large Loose foodservice pack

The egg carton have Plant number 1156 and the Julian Date of 187 (July 6, 2010) stamped on the end of the package. The company estimates that they have sold over 24,000 dozen eggs to customers in Southern California and Las Vegas NV. 

Cardenas Market Brand
Cardenas Market Brand eggs were also recalled.  Affected cartons have the plant number 1026 on the side and Julian dates between 136 and 228. The eggs were distributed to grocery stores in California and Nevada.

The best way to fight with the sparking egg recall situation is to avoid eating egg as much as possible. You might not know that how many other brands under different labels in the market are supplied by companies involved in the recall.
