Uproot depression via routine exercise

Depression is a kind of a low mood situation, when people do not feel like doing anything. In extreme cases people become pessimist and loose their self confidence. Approximately 1 in 18 people or 14.4 million people in USA suffer with depression. There are several prescription drugs available in the market for the treatment of depression, but they are expensive and cause side effects. Recently a psychologist Jasper Smits, who is working on an unorthodox treatment for anxiety and mood disorders, including depression, came up with natural remedy for the treatment of that is absolutely free for the patients and has no side effects.

Jasper Smits revealed that it’s nothing more than exercise.  Physical activity is crucial to good health— both mental and physical.  Previous studies performed in 1970s and ’80s showed that Americans who exercised were not only less likely to be depressed compared to those who did not, but also less likely to become depressed in the future.

There are various other supporting studies available that conducted the research at molecular level. Neurologist and molecular biologists reported that exercise may alter brain chemistry and regulate the key neurotransmitters, serotonin and...

norepinephrine, the same way that antidepressant drugs do.

A neuroscience professor Philip Holmes at the University of Georgia and his colleagues have shown that over the course of several weeks, exercise can switch on certain genes that increase brain’s level of galanin, a peptide neurotransmitter that appears to tone down the body’s stress response by regulating another brain chemical, norepinephrine.

We all know about the health benefits of exercise. The study doesn’t reveal anything new or revolutionary, but again emphasized that natural treatments are the gold treatments that not only save your money, but also prevent various unwanted health conditions
